Spring Semester. Follies is one the most highly anticipated events of the year. It allows students to tap into their creative side and produce a review style show made up of satirical videos and songs about the life of a SMU Dedman School of Law Student. This show is completely created by students but a professor cameo or two will typically make its way into the show before the end of the night. The event is held at a local cinema and will usually be followed by an SBA sponsored Bar Review where all students are welcome to attend.
Spring Semester. Barrister’s Ball is an annual event held at many law schools throughout the country. It is a semi-formal, fun night of dancing and celebrating held at a venue off-campus. The event resembles, and is often referred to as "Law School Prom." Unlimited food and drink and photo “pic flips” are included in your ticket purchase.
The Student Bar Association (SBA) is the governing body for the students at Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law. The SBA represents the concerns and interests of the law school student body and sponsors a variety of extracurricular events.
